Hey Guys,

I suppose you are all familiar with that warm buzz of getting a new tank - my new tank has arrived on SUN morning - early (after four hours of sleep). 8x3x2.5 (LxWxD)- this time with external sump filtration.... this is the first time i am doing an external filter:nilly::nilly::nilly:. Let's see how it works.

This is an upgrade for the residents of another 7' tank. 3 silver aros, green aro and jar together with motoro.

There was a slight snag. :irked: The support for the sump is way too puny... and it does not fit. So i still need to cut out the bottom grill beneath the stand then the plumbing can be finished. then can start cycling (easy part cos i have lots of old media) then order the canopy. then moving fish - the most unpleasant part. All fish should be in the new set-up by end of this month <fingers crossed>

Also, this is the first time i am going to be using fake plants :D:D:D

nice tank, are going to get some more stingrays, nice stand to
o, did you build it?

Cheers ^^ actually, yes i will be getting another stingray. the current (male?) tank mate died after few days but the remaining stingray is growing nicely. I have found several ray pups in my LFS so i will be taking one (female?) for the current (male?)

No, i did not do the stand - i am hopeless with carpentry - my father's furniture guy did it for me (on father's account :D)

me too - i would consider it quite an accomplishment to have small motoro pups. No plans for the stand. I did not even know how it would look like - the carpenter guy designed it with the LFS - clearly he forgot the sump at the bottom.

I can take more pics of it with measurement tape from more angle.

Of course update when new addition

PS: there are four arapaimas that i intend to grow out in this tank - put deposit on them already. will have to choose the motoro pup. WIll post the pix of the paimas later (+motoro litter) from LFS

nice GL

Thanx. I did not know that LFS here can do 8'x3' (until that time i got asian aros) but they never offered it until i asked (including the sump). So, now i have to change the other two 7' and 6' to 8' as well i suppose. Hmmmm, what to do with 6' and 7' :irked: ... may be make a small colorful fish community - though i find those very difficult to look after
