nice one mate. did you not ask mark if he could get them? am sure he said he could get them for a few ££`s each not that £34 was a huge amount of cash.

lol look you got me wantin some now! great lookin fish mate.

now can i truly afford another tank? lol

nice reds! hope they are all still ok! you best get feeding them, they need some meat on them! i feed my reds on garden worms, free food and they love it, quite often get 2 or 3 on a big lob worm. that never gets boring to watch! ill see if i can get a video off my phone or it. mine have reached about 5 inches, the biggest one's stripes are going blotchy and they all have a nice purpley blue twinge to their black upper body. i hope they are nice and colourful in old age.

just fed them a but of prawn and lancefish (frozen) and they took it straight in , iam well happy

lucky you! i tried feeding them all kinds of frozen food and even some live worms. they ignored everything. then i threw in a few rosie red minnows and they inhaled them on sight. guess i could give the prawns a go...

keep hope alive bro! from what i've heard/read/seen after about 8 or 9 inches that pretty color they have now goes away and they start to look more like the fearsome predators that they are.

yep all doing extremely well , they look a bit thin as they have just been shipped (starved 48hours prior) they are already at 5 to 6 odd inches and just slightly showing some blotching on there backs (still really in full juvie colors), there going to be big boys .

sharp tooth - hi mate , mark could get some in for me he said he could also get some pleuros in for me ,but they would be very small , when i seen these for £8 each plus shipping £34 total at 5-6 inches i jumped at the chance ,any smaller and they would of been feeders in my tank , might take him up on the offer of some juvie pleuros though ,just need to set up yet another tank lol

well they have settled in just fine , they can swim past the other two sh without even a second glance by either party , the jardini is just ignoring them , the jags are far two busy trying to mate and getting moved on all the time by the aurantimaculata ,the birchirs couldn't care less who's in the tank , the butti has showed no interest at all in them, the left over mbuna are getting stalked and iam keeping the rtc/tsn well fed just before lights out , so at the moment all is well , let just hope it stays that way lol

lol sounds like a time bomb to me mate! but good luck and i hope it all works out for you. if it dose your a lucky man with a tank to be proud of.

just sizing up now for a new 6x2.5x2 tank lol as big as i can go sadly, i wish this sholder would heal and i could get back to raceing my bikes! this time off looking at fish is costing me afortune again.

lol same here , on sick at moment with nothing better to do than buy fish

to be honest i dont expect it to work in the long term , the two temperate sh will be moved to there own tank as soon as i am satisfied there not going to kill each other , i expect the mbuna to be eaten , which will leave 3 red sh breading pair of jags , one red devil , 1 lsn , 1 rtc/tsn (this too will eventully go into my mates 8x4) 1 large veija , 4 birchirs ,a breading pair of jd ,the butti and the jar. i think they all might just be mean enough to look after them selves , as of the moment (toutching wood) there is absolutly no agression at all .

i might just rename my tank the highlander tank, (there can only be one) , as realisticly going by past experiance and other peoples theese fish all will not tolerate each other but somehow for the moment its working. allough iam ready to move things at any time, i dont think i would of dared tried this if i wasnt at home all day at the moment though

your mate with the 8x4 isnt called lewis buy anychance is he? just thats who i sold my 8x4x2 acrylic tank to.

going back to paddock this afternoon to pick up a few denison barbs and the smaller vittatus i think to make a bit of a shole in my tank.
