hi mate , only approx there second week but i think the largest one has grown about an inch ,smaller two went off there food for a few days but feeding again now (think down to filter packing in and having to replace with brand new one (amonia spike)) , only thing is the rtc x tsn is growning a lot faster than them and is looking more likley he is going to see them as food , so i think it is going to be moved on as the reds come 1st.

awesome!!! simply awesome! Don't the other snakeheads pose a threat to them though?

cheers guys

onion ,what i have found experimenting with a lot of different mixes , is that for some reason the bottom / cave dwelling Channa are totally tolerant of the open water swimming Channa and never bother them , of course you will get exceptions to this (marulius and some striata just wont mix with anything ) the hardest part of putting these together was getting the asiatica and the aurantimaculata to accept each other ,i think this is because they see each other as competition and look the same in body shape ,share the same water level in tank etc. the only tolerated each other at 1st ,but now swim round together and use the same cave
i have never witnessed any aggression between the aurantimaculata or asiatica towards any of the red or the marulioides i had in there (choked overnight on a convict) i have also in the past kept pleuros with a pair of dwarf Channa and the outcome was the same .

from time to time the asiatica does stalk the male jag in the tank and the bristlenose plecs i have even seen him stalk the jardini who is far bigger than him, but has never gone near the reds , i am off out on Saturday to have a look at some marulioides and if they look the right size ect , i will be trying to introduce a couple of those also
