do you have problems with the lettuce piece floating around the top of the tank... I do in my non wet/dry tank...

Your fish are going to love all the hiding spots. Cleaning the tank will be tough though.

i use fishin line tied to a rock and i loop the line through the lettuce and it'll stay there unless they eat all the way through the bottom.

yea i use tubing with out a gravel vac and i stick it into the spots so it can suck all the poop out of the dead spots! not too much gets stuck back there because i have a pump hidden in the bigger pile and the intake tube of one of the hang on the back's is in there too! so it keeps it pretty clean!

I don think it is too much rock i based it off of other tanks! from a tank i found that was hailed as one of the best! it was a 125gal! BUT I CUSTOMIZED TO MY 55!

the glass will not break almost none of the weight is put on the sides of the tank! the only weight is from a a few rocks at the very top of the piles! mayeb a 3 pounds of weights all together not including water pressure

beauuutiful tank! as long as you love it, thats all that matters.. i like the type of rock that you used.. i am searching for round rocks like that here in good ol Ohio... nothing but sandstone here! haha

the close ups looks great but i was disappointed at the full tank shot. a little too much rock. looks like to made a 55 into a 30g after displacing 25 gallons with all that rock. it would look better if you stacked it 2-3 high along the back and left the front of the tank open
I kinda agree... the setup's great but may create a problem once these guys grow up.. There are effectively only two territories in the tank being the two large stacks of rocks on either side. Tropheus duboisi are pretty aggressive amongst themselves, I know you know it cause you got ten.

Try and make more territories which are separated or disjoint.

i have done tons and tons of research and everything says this is ok! and the only fish that need seperate territories are the alpha male and the bata male! the rest will swim freely in between the two two rock piles picking which ones theyn will be in for a time! but they could have gotten along with one pile! but i thought i would give two! i have done my research if you were foloin my long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long line of threads trying to find find soe fish to stock this tank! and i kept changin my mind because of needs! but these tropheus i kept doin more and more trying to find something i made sure i did eveythin right! and i did because after a few weeks if nothin has died of bloat it'll be fine!

you can do weeks upon weeks of research and u be the judge of whether it'll be ok! 12 is fine in this 55! 15 is the max according to some of my resources!
