Awesome pickup. The tail should regenerate easily and quickly provided the caudal peduncle is intact. The operculum should heal easily as well. Just keep up the feedings and provide a clean aquarium and it should heal up without scarring.

awsome... i'll try feeding tonight.

agree with oddball(who doesn't?:P), the fish should heal up nicely for you, congrats on the pick-up! is it feeding? i would think twice about that large silver aro and the odoe as tankmates though:)

silver and the odoe followed him around for about 2 min, now they just leave him alone and sometimes they all follow eachother in a line lol. and he was very active during feeding... i dropped in some shrimp pellets and some fd krill. not sure if he ate any though. what do you recommend feeding this little guy? im going to try some blood worms and a better brand of sinking pellets(btw would cichlid gold sinking type be a good diet?) and if none of those cease to work, ima try some cut up pieces of shrimp.

very nice pick up:P looking great:)

bloodworms, or if yr tank can take it, tiny silversides will work. it may be fine now, but i would really really watch that silver carefully, how big is it & what's the size of the aro?

I fed my young ones Brine shrimp plus, gammarus, daphnia magnus, dense culture crumbles, Ken's sinking sticks and hi-pro crumbles, bloodworms, mosquito larvae, Krill flake with spirulina, Cyclop-eeze, etc.

very very niiiice pickup
now bulk it up :D

Silver aro is just under 17" and the Afro is pushing 8" inches. Ever since I've added him to the tank I saw no aggression between any of the fish. Will try the bloodworms and I've fed my fish silversides so it shouldn't be a problem. My lfs said he ate bloodworms and pellets. What pellet food do you guys reccommend?
