The best "Wet Pet" ?

i would have to say oscar, but that is mainly due to me not having personal experience with other large fish (yet at least).

my oscar begs for food, recognizes me (and only me), chases a laser pointer around his tank, plays with a floating plastic ball....... he's a fish dog! lol.
 
Oscar hands down. They might not be the best looking but when it comes to owner interaction nothing comes close. I had one so tame that i could net it with little effort to move to other tanks... He wouldnt get scared of the net lol
 
my trimac is active.i also have a hybrid(jagxtexas) he is crazy,bites the glass,my arms when cleaning,throws rocks all over
 
I know you said SA/CA but green spotted puffers are very smart, I've sadly never been able to keep one for longer than 3 months but I've had two and they both had a real personality and grew to "like" me in less than a week. My Jag Ive now had for two years and she always follows me when I get in her site, never bites or anything, mostly begging for food. She's cool but puffer had her beat by a long shot, I also have 2 bettas that do about the same as the jag.
 
Oscars are fun as hell but they' arent so good looking, that's why >I'll go all the way down with Flowerhorns.

I'd like to try jags and midas too.
