Oscars are great if you love personality and don't want to get bit. Mine knows tricks and he interacts with me! If you want a mean fish and have the room, doviis are the best. If all you have is a small tank like a 30 gallon a salvini is great because they are beautiful, not too large, and can be aggressive and interactive.

Oscar hands down. They might not be the best looking but when it comes to owner interaction nothing comes close. I had one so tame that i could net it with little effort to move to other tanks... He wouldnt get scared of the net lol

I agree with this comment. Oscars to me by far have the most personality to offer their owner. All depends on what you want, a very personable pet like and Oscar or an aggressive show stopper like a Midas or Red Devil. They are not as friendly but their majestic like humps and glass cracking aggression gets the attention of guests.
