The Biggest Rhom I've Seen In Person

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the color of the diamond is really what the color you see, blue diamond has a lot of blue, gold diamond has a lot of gold and black diamond has lots of silver but I've had diamond with blue, purple, silver and gold all over. it doesn't matter what diamond rhom it is, it looks to be a quality fish.
once it settles down the true color will show. It'll be a beast.
check out the videos of bomber's rhom, it's got crazy color once it settles down.
a FX5 would be a good filter for the 180g, as for power head, personally I like hydor koralia power head, it out puts a gentle current at an wide angle unlike some of the other power heads that outputs a jet of water. depends on what plants you get you might now want too much current, if you go with some awesome looking driftwood only (most deep river in the amazon doesn't have much plants)then you can go with a larger power head.
it really depends on what kind of look are you going for. for a 180g I would suggest at least a Koralia 4 (1200gph) or new version koralia evo 4 (1400gph) or go all the way up to koralia 8 (3250gph). don't let the number scared you the current is really gentle compare to most other powerhead at lower flow rating.
here's an old video of koralia 8 in my 180g so it gives you an idea, its at the upper left corner.

If you want to feed live that's fine, just quarantine them first in a separate tank to ensure they don't carry any disease and parasites, may want to dose them with prazi-pro to remove any potential internal parasites on the bluegill and perch. a lot of the ones I caught from lakes and ponds have some kind of parasites on their fins, some even have anchor worms.

if all possible I would not risk it with such beautiful specimen but if you must, just make sure they are healthy, disease and parasite free and try to cut load them with quality food.

So I went shopping for an aquarium and came across this tank. 8ft by 24inch deep by 20 inch tall. I ended up picking up the tank for a decent price. I'm gonna try to set the tank up asap but it needs a bit of work. Its going to need a good clean up, sump, and a little buff job. I'll keep you guys updated. If anyone is interested in my big rhom let me know. I'm not looking for a big payday I bought this rhom because I felt this fish didn't deserve to be in a 55gal. No shipping

that would be a great tank for the rhom, but it will most likely not use the entire 8ft length.
too bad that your NO SHIPPING basically shuts me down right there.
