It’s nice to see another with a L.pictus, my big girl is still around the 3ft mark but bulky as hell (6years old) . Female always tend to get larger then males. I believe you can sex them via the info page on planet catfish.
Nice collection of cats. Look forward to future updates.
the blochii came in super rough from vendor - missing barbells and whiskers - treating with salt -
- the sailfin has been ill for a month - i made a thread over in disease area - treated one week prazi and one week salt - gotta dial in nitrates to do more prazi - they crept up last prazi treatment- ( i auto drip 120gallons per day in to keep nitrates at 5ppm)
Being not nearly as knowledgable as Viktor is on the subject of treating protozoan infections but it seems to be obvious that your fish looks to be in critical condition, I hope I'm wrong, but salt and heat ain't gonna fix it, it may even be too late to save it with using the right medications. Good luck... P.S. I'll be taking that vendor off my list too, never tried 'em, never will. selling a fish in the condition as you received it and infected as well? Shameful!

i’ve got three varieties of ICH meds, going to do a couple water changes to clear the salt and start meds if not improved... fish’s demeanor seems better... he looks bad... when i got him he was flashing and doing barrel rolls ??
ya, i was warned about ordering from them... got sucked in by the hype... never again...
Ich is one of those strange diseases. It’s always present in your water and if or how a fish is infected is hugely variable based on many factors. One of the most interesting points being that an unstressed fish, in recovery itself and “happy” can itself with no help fend off reinfection from even a bad coating.
Let’s hope your fish is happy and in recovery and will do this too, however the addition of a bit of tonic salt, or alternatively (preferably) malachite green or methelyne blue and heat to speed up the life cycle of the Protozoa will obviously improve chances.
Good luck!
