dont get all aggro on me... aint a friggin retard. U obviously dont get it. The misting system will only spreak for about 1 minute 1 or 2 times a day... and the nozzles will be adjusted in each tank to allow different amounts of water through. theres gonna be humidity and temp gauges in the tanks so I can keep the humidities right. So dont act like u know everything... cuz i aint dum.

Theres only one thing worse than a know-it-all n thats a know-it-all who acts like hes the only one who knows anything...

Dude. Relax. I am getting frustrated b/c you don't listen to reason....You have a tank that is too small, plus you are planning on putting a desert animal in a tank with a mister.

Whatever man. Do what you want. But don't call me a "know-it-all who acts like hes the only one who knows anything. You asked for advice. Advice was given. Do what you want with it. But stop crying about it

the tank isnt too small, a beardie can live in the no problem. they arent exactly a species that is going to run around their tank at full speed. They are pretty relaxed, and just because it is a desert animal doesnt mean it doesnt need moisture. I wasnt askin about whether i needed a misting system, just if my idea would work.

I see no reason to mist corn snakes...if anything i bet they will seek their hide or get aggro when the 'mist' comes on. Beardie and crested i think its fine though...my beardie would only drink from a spray bottle.

I'm just saying, be cautious about daily spraying of a Beardie. It might raise humidity too much for it. I don't even spray my girl, I just let her soak weekly...

aight well sorry for my outburst. Just the way u said seemed kind of like u were criticising me. the tank will also be in a very well ventilated area so it will dry up faster. Thats the thing bout DIY, sometimes u have to mess around a bit before its perfect but aslong as i have my gauges and Im checking them, i will figure out the right balance...

bickering aside, I don't think this will work. Don't get offended, but I have tried to use the exact same method to raise the humidity in the moist hide of my geckos cage. It does a little bit... but not very much.

and for the use that you want, the most you could hope for is that the turbulence of the water would cause excessive evaporation to be transferred to the tank via air current... not what you want for a beardie. There will be no water pushed using an air pump.

If you want to get a pump to do it, you just need to up your reservoir size and replace the air pump with a sump pump on a timer that puts out at least 20 PSI

they should be misted daily
very lightly tho is what ive been taught
and ive been doing it for the past 3 beardeds ive had
it helps prevent dehydration
but mostly needed with babbies

sounds good, just hope that theres enough pressure pushing out so that the water will turn into mist.

Ok let me just rephrase. I guess misting isnt the right term for what I am talkin about. I mean more of a sprinkler, as a replacement for having to use a spray bottle systematically. That way, if I choose to go somewhere for a weekend, I dont have to have someone come in to spray my reps. I know mist is not necesary for snakes and beardies, but this idea is more to sprinkle water over te substrate and fake plants so that 1. the humidity stays up and 2. the animals can drink the droplets on the plants and side of the tank.

that being said. I built a small prototype today with a vitamin water bottle and it works perfectly. The pump i tried it with is for a 30 gal aquarium which is a stronger pump then i intend to use, and thats a good thing cuz it was squirtin pretty fast out of the one airtube. When its finished it will ofcourse be going through 3 airtubes so i will have to see which pump size will be the right one. When I build the final product I will make a thread posting pictures of the building process so anybody who wants to can copy it. Ill also show a video of it in action.

This just makes me happy because I have found a way to build a misting/sprinkling system which usually costs over 100 bucks with only 10 dollars.

Also returning to the little bikkering session we had yesterday, before each nozzle I will put a valve so that I can regulate how much comes out of each nozzle. That way the geckos will get more then the beardie and snakes.
