I think it's human nature when in regular contact with someone you don't actually see, to build some sort of image in your mind as to what they might look like.

A job I was in years ago had me ringing customers and suppliers regularly. This was before the days of mobile phones so I could never ring who I wanted direct. My first contact was always lowly office staff, who would put me through to the person I wanted.

Over the years I would get to know the office staff quite well, usually women, and would always have a chat before they put me through to whoever I wanted to speak to.

On very rare occasions I would visit some of these companies and would finally get introduced to the person at the other end of the phone who I'd been chatting to for years.

And, as in your case with me, I was so way off the mark with my mental visualisation, I wasn't even remotely close, ever, lol.

On this forum I don't try and put an image to anyone really now, though I must admit back in the day when RD was active being bristly with everyone, for some reason I just expected him to look just like his avatar, Billy Jack, lol.

it just seems to be something the human brain does , it likes to have an image to put a face on the communication. I had a similar situation when I started travelling for work too, especially with the ladies, a young mans brain can come up with all sorts of fantasies which unfortunately were not even remotely close to the real thing.

I would guess your @RD / billy jack prediction is pretty accurate though.

Yeah lol. There's some wacky old clips on you tube of Billy Jack. His favourite trick if he had a run in with someone was to do a kung foo style kick to their earhole, lol.

I can just imagine RD doing something like that if you disagreed with him on a nutritional issue or something. "WHACK! And don't argue with me again amigo." Lol.

I miss RD.

Some days I do wonder what it would be like to be bald and not have to care for this hair ? I’d imagine I have an oddly shaped head

I'm definitely not bald though when I had my hair cut a few weeks ago I kept telling her to cut it shorter and shorter. Unfortunately I have this cowlick that is normally hidden by longer hair and now sticks out like a sore thumb and makes me look bald on the left side of my head. Hopefully my hair will eventually grow in and hide it.

Okay, I should elaborate; I picture the male members...er, posters...as all being bald with varying degrees and styles of facial hair.

The females, naturally, are all Amazon Goddesses.

There...that should get me out of trouble, right? Right???
