Thats what I didn't like about the paranormal activity series, same old thing for 4 different movies. This was similar but I thought that this movie bummed up the thrill and made everything scarier then paranormal has ever done.
 
I didn't even bother with watching any of the Paranormal movies...when they make it to cable I'll check them out.

Lol I watched that movie at a friend's house and at that part one of his surround sound speakers fell off the wall! Scared the s#*t out of me lol

Yeaahhh I still get chills thinking about some of those parts. I really hope that the second one doesn't get just ridiculous near the end like the first one did.

I watched it 2 days ago and really liked it. It wasn't scary but did make me jump twice. I think what made it better was it is based on a true story, not some stupid cliche crap thrown together.

Also evil dead was stupid. It had the gore factor but that's pretty much it.. Going to watch another movie tomorrow with the family but not sure what to see yet.

I thought it was a really good movie! Great cinematography, cast, story etc.

I've been longing for a horror movie to leave me with residual fear for YEARS, but, truth be told I think I've kind of grown out of that. They still are scary when you're watching them, but there's something that is missing now.

Amityville Horror, Haunting in Conneticuit [in Australian and don't know how to speak American...(that is a joke...)], Insidious, Exorcist movies, and heaps of others, I just don't find them scary.

Insidious despite a few good jumps I remember being pretty laughable.

I feel the same way. So many have come out and they all feel the same, none have that "sitting on the edge of your seat scary" because most of them use that same plot, tactics, etc. It's been a long time since I've seen a scary movie that made me want to cover my eyes and bite my nails in anticipation lol
