Could it be possible that your bass was in fact a "she" due to the speed of the growth rate, or was it just the diet you were giving him/her?? :naughty:

I really have no idea on the sex of the fish. I always refer to my fish as (HE). lol

I would say that the diet had the most to do with the growth. Rick was housed in my feeder tank. It was a 4ft tank that has around a pound of fat head minnows in it at all times. A pound is around 360 2-3" fat heads. So it was a All you can eat buffet for him.

That and the tank gets 75% water changes every other day on a minimum. I am sure that helps as well.

did you cook and eat your bass or what?? :-)
I would clean it up and feed it to my cat.... but thats just me...

No actuallly I am allergic to fish. (says the guy that has 11 fish tanks and goes fishing 200+ times a year.)

So i try to minimalize the contact.

RIP SLICK RICK ..... did all he eat was goldfish while in your tank? they say that goldfish aren't really the best fish (nutritionally)to be feeding the LMB so with your next one mix it up a bit again sorry for your loss
