If everyone did this the shelters would have plenty of $$ to put back into the shelters / system instead of wasting it on euthanizing animals. And people who dump their pets might think twice if their precious "Mr Kitty" might end up as "Mr Snakes" lunch instead of the false thoughts that it might get adopted...

Not a chance. Many more people like little kittens than big snakes, unfortunately. I think it would be a good use of unwanted animals as opposed to spending money to put them to no use at all. It would probably be considered cruelty to animals though (you know, since allowing pets to breed uncontrolled and produce all these unwanted animals isn't)
