The end of the world catfish?

I always thought it was odd (well more interesting) that humans do seem to have a need to have something to believe/worship etc. Always wondered why.

Not everyone believes in some religion. If someone asks how was the earth made and they reply, got no idea, flaws in all the theories they don't believe in anything.

And del, you don't have everything in life figured out--not even close. Reading a lot of philosophical books won't do you much good--and so is generalizing everything else in life. Thinking you got life and death all figured out, and not believing in God, doesn't make you a bigger man or more respected here, Im sorry\\

:

so you think youve got me figured out? im sorry for you :D

ive never even touched a philosphy book

the fear of death and being alone, nobody wants to die, we all want to continue living even after we pass on. and we all like to have someone watching over and protecting us. even if we cant see, touch hear, or feel them.

Never thought of it like that. Probably because i've never felt like that. (not that i'm a big fan of dying or anything).

Are there any vendors who plan on stocking this particular cat?
Sign me up for 6 of them please. ;)

The problem with that is that EVERYONE Believes in some religion. You have too. The foundation of any religion is faith and you have to have faith in order to believe anything about how we got here or what happens after you die.

There is NO proof anywhere of how the earth got started so therefore any true belief of the beginning is faith. So if you believe it was God or a big bang or Aliens or whatever the foundation of where we come from is faith.

The fact is we are here.....we got here somehow....whatever you believe you believe by faith (unseen). So everyone practices religion in one way or another. So these people on this site, who IMO are not anti God or anti Religion they are anti Jesus Christ, are practicing religion in their atheism. Takes just as much faith to believe a cosmic explosion started this earth then it does that a higher power, GOD, created it.

THATS MY OPINION!!!!

OUT

LOL nobody "has" to belive in anything. The reason people follow a faith of their choice is either because it :
A) helps them live a happy life and gives them some sort of guidance, or
B)helps them ease their fears of the unknown.
personally i have studied religions because it does fascinate me, just as how mythology fascinates me.i am not against any religion nor am i a part of any.
i view things from outside the religious beliefs and am perfectly happy not knowing how man came about the earth and not knowing where i go when i die. i do not fear the unknown therefore i do not need "something" to belive in or follow.
i do not fear death for it is inevitable.i do what i can to prolong my life in a way to be a healthy happy one, but i do not believe i have to follow "rules" of a specific religion in order to maintain a morally sound life.
like i said before an open mind is the best way to view life and to each their own.

Actually a lot of animals need those feelings but they don't seem to worship anything as far as I know.

Oh sorry then, I assumed you were one of those pseudo-intellectual types from your quotes..

Not that theres anything wrong with reading about those books, because they are actually interesting, but there are some types who, you know, gets too involved with those things and it starts getting into their egos.. I think you know what kind of people Im talking about. Ive met actually quite a few

Im going to assume you are a cool guy for the time being.. lol
