Nice. Almost identical to our barra, except grows bigger. Ours only grow to about 5 feet and abit over a hundred pounds. Same diff for tanks I suppose.

My babies eat like pigs on anything, pellets included-actually grows faster than the peacock bass I have in the same tank. Yours should grow quicker.

Sadly from what I have read about them is that they have decimated most of the Cichlid's in lake Victoria, that's a shame because that lake has alot of neat fish that will never get to be caught and sold to aquariust's like ourselves.

The sad thing is that it wasn't their fault, but the people who've intentionally introduced them for econmoical reasons.

Hey M/L, I'm with you on the cichlids, Africans anyway lol.

And barras are cool-eat like pigs and grows faster than weeds. Fight hard on the line and tastes fantastic. What more could you ask for?

I have both and barra grow three times faster than nile perch! For such a big fish they are relatively slow growers.
