Nice. Almost identical to our barra, except grows bigger. Ours only grow to about 5 feet and abit over a hundred pounds. Same diff for tanks I suppose.

My babies eat like pigs on anything, pellets included-actually grows faster than the peacock bass I have in the same tank. Yours should grow quicker.
 
Sadly from what I have read about them is that they have decimated most of the Cichlid's in lake Victoria, that's a shame because that lake has alot of neat fish that will never get to be caught and sold to aquariust's like ourselves. :swear:

The sad thing is that it wasn't their fault, but the people who've intentionally introduced them for econmoical reasons.
 
Hey M/L, I'm with you on the cichlids, Africans anyway lol.

And barras are cool-eat like pigs and grows faster than weeds. Fight hard on the line and tastes fantastic. What more could you ask for?

I have both and barra grow three times faster than nile perch! For such a big fish they are relatively slow growers.
