The heck is a ruby silver arowana?

I think there was a melanism black arowana, but never a melanism silver arowana. Never heard of a melanism silver before.

I'm sure there are many things you've never heard of before. Below is King el's post, pics don't work maybe he'll see a repost the pics

I don't have a plat silver aro just the albino silver aro.

Other silver aro variants are:

-Regular silver that you've seen in many LFS.
-Selective breed silver aro with higher shine level.
-Leusistic silver aro also known as Platinum or Snow.
-Albino silver aro, hard to find in the hobby and probably rarer than plat but cheaper.
-Melanistic silver aro also known as the black silver aro or charcoal aro (Japanese term)

Mostly of them end up in Japan.

That is a great looking fish!! I have seen pictures of Black Silvers before however pictures of them never cease to amaze. Now all that is left is to see somebody breed Black Arowanas that retain their juvenile colors. Sorry just a bit off the topic.

I guess most LFS try to fleece people who are unaware.. I saw this Jardini, about 5 inches, at a LFS I usually goto.. and i asked the assistant there as to how much the aro was.. he said its a green aro and was sold for 110 USD (5500 INR), I was like WTF.. told him it was a jardini and they shouldnt be cheating people so.. its only like around 20$ max here..
