i'm actually surprised biggles didn't beat me to this since peta is onto it. in fact, i expect him to make a thread about it within the next few days

you are right, 27 deaths is kinda low for the 500 million dollar master piece they're building.

While some of those deaths were avoidable, they animals didn't die during filming or from abuse which is how I keep seeing it spun in the media. It's nowhere nearly as bad as all the horses that were killed while filming the chariot scene in Ben-Hur.

Late to the party. Kinda bummed that it will be a trilogy. Read the book a few weeks ago. I pumped for watching it tomorrow. Loved LOTR and now I'm itching to read the endless stories about the history of Middle-earth. This will be another epic film.

Forget the other Middle Earth stories, Jose. Seriously

Not worth the read? Boring?

Impossible to read. The only one with a certain degree of readability is the Children of Hurin. Even so, kmpossible.

If you like the style i can recommend you loads of better fantasy books.

the movies are so cool i think the more the better. spaceing them out a year just gives you something to look forward to imo. patience young grasshopper

Movie is as cool as it gets , notice that a load more things are in focus in 3d , they have used dof very sparingly, but i suddenly hear its a three part series , is this true ??
