I know it didn't come from your tank, your tanks are all very healthy. Some fish are more prone to get it in transport or from temp variations if they have never had it before. The sponge filters were from a friends tank so odds are good that's where it came from.

If you saw the smaller one right now you would wonder how it's still alive I feel bad. If it didn't have ich I would split them up. Guess I just need to sit back and wait, hope for the best for now. :(
Another thing is, those S/A need alot of cover in the tank to feel somewhat safe...you noticed on mine how I had all those fake plants everywhere and a couple rock piles on each end of the tank so the small fish could hide? It allows the weaker fish to get out of line of sight of the more aggro ones...just an idea....doesn't mean it will work for you.

I have a 37 gal tank that is not in use if you want to use it as a quaranteen tank. Also have an extra filter and heater for it...just let me know.

Your funny Damien. I offered you this tank to QT your JD and you offered me your fish instead and now your offering me a tank to QT your fish. I think I'll hold out for your 460 LOL! j/k let me give it a few days with the meds and add some decor. I'd like to see if that helps first. Thanks though.

UPDATE

FX5 is established now, ich gone and I finally found pure white sand. I used quickcrete "Medium Sand". 100 lbs for $8. It's better and cheaper than pool filter sand.

My goal was to set this tank up as cheap as possible, budget so far:
$0____Stand Canopy
$100__Truvu Acrylic Tank
$125__FX5
$30___400w Heater
$8____Substrate
$2____Clay pots (goodwill)
$4____Fake plants (goodwill)

$269 spent total. I sold lots of stuff on CL and am actually ahead on this tank. This tank is going to be my "practice" on a drip system. I will start that project on the 29th.

FTS, still need new doors, new molding and paint the stand/canopy.

These plants are way too big but they break up the line of sight well and give the breeding pair a place to hide.

Thanks bro, FYI all the extra heaters/sponge filters have been pulled out since the pics. The wife dragged me to the goodwill donation center with her trying to find some old school barstools (she's "artsy") and I found them there. $2 each so why not. They are too big IMO but the green pair loves them and have spawned twice since I put the plants in. They share the plants with a female crenicichla pike.

When Jeff Rapps get his European shipment in this tank/stocklist gets completly redone. ;)

Tank looks fantastic.
