The Journey Begins..Oscars Growing Out

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice tank and oscars! Watch the longfin since it will be at a serious disadvantage.

At the moment it is the dominate one of them all, being that it is a bit bigger and alot more solid that the others. Will be interesting to see if the others catch up..

The driftwood I obtained from my mothers property a few years ago when we were removing trees and stumps to put in new fencing. I had to cut it in 3 pieces to fit it inside the tank around the bracing ...

Nice way to save some $$$, it looks really good.
Where in oz are you?

Op it certainly is nice to see someone having the correct approach to keeping Oscars.
Personally I would do a pair and build an s/a community around them.
Leporinus, chalceus or silver dollars could work in groups. Pim cats like blochii or ornatus would work. Ornatus are beautiful.
I like the look of your tank already and wish you luck with your set up. Great start, refreshing to see and I look forward to up dates.

You mentioned on the other thread gett8ng another fx6 eventuallly. For big bioloads 8 would recommend eheims 2262. It’s a little more but just a beast, so much media..... crazy really.

Stay strong and leave the tank to fill with Oscar volume. I will check out this thread often :)
