Yeah those altums are beautiful! The tank is 18" wide. The plants along the back wall take up a 7-8" though. Damn, the size of a CD???!?!?! There's no way that would fit in my tank.

But now you got me thinking
give or take a foot... you have plenty of room for a nice pair of Discus...They will probably even swim in/out the plants...

Think so?

Maybe I'll get rid of everything else and keep a pair, plus my roselines

I have a small tank with a Discus and the limited space makes him swim in and out of the plants its very cool! He's about 1/2 a CD or a little less. I'm not sure if he's stressed out but it doesn't look like it.

Back to the derailment... I received this today and I'm excited to try it out.

Its was $50 but it comes with that mounting plate and 2 spots to attach the speed-light.

Nice! Haven't tried that brand but it's all the same concept. $50 seems a little steep though. I got one transmitter and two receivers for each speedlight for about $35. But I do like the speedlights mounts that it has.

Hurry up and test it out :D

Jose a pair of discus would do great in your care. Make sure you get a super baller pair though. That way when they breed you can give me some :)

Okay Joey you dun did it now! My gf's been wanting some discus for the longest time, but I always said no. So I casually mentioned the idea and she was stoked. When to the LFS 'just to look' and made one heck of an impulse buy. Almost $200 later, these 3 beauties were in my tank. I'm in love already!! Reddish ones were labeled as 'checkerboard' and the bluish one a 'ring leopard'. According to the owner, ring leopards are not as common as the other guys.

I hope I don't kill them with all the co2 and ferts :(

Welcome to the new "Religion"....lol.... Trio looks great. Now I'm jealous because you have them in a tank with live plants =-(

Nice to get your feet wet with captives. As you get comfortable and venture to the wild side...like PBass, your going to be tempted to pick several wild variants....

More pictures and FT shots man.....

Thanks man, it was hard to decide. They had so many nice varieties. They had an amazing marlboro red, but it was already sold. Those videos of the wilds you sent me were jawdropping. If I ever set up another bigger planted tank, like a 80-120g, then I'll definitely be getting some more :)

I'll have to do another photoshoot soon!

Yeah! Tank pix!
