well, i dont know if you look at anything I write & take it with a grain of salt, however talking directly - Aim to do a bonsai class bud, this will teach you very quickly how to draw the eye into the scene properly. plus its a cost effective option that is worth its weight in gold.
In my opinion, there needs to be a sh^t load more workbench programs for the aquatic fields, even if its LFS based. A skill set isn't something your usually born with, more often than not you need to discover it within yourself.
