Thanks guys! No new updates yet. Went away on vacation for a week and luckily all the plants were fine. Just turned down the lighting by 2hrs and added enough ferts for the whole week. There wasn't much growth, but no algae outbreaks which is a good thing :)
 
PICTURE-LESS UPDATE!

I got home last night and yanked everything out! I only kept the blyxa and the hygro. Going for a super-simple low maintenance high tech setup...is that possible??? :) My tank was planted too heavily and I was having problems with sickly looking stem plants and algae on the lower parts of thestems, while the top portions were doing great. I didn't like it anymore.

So nothing but a field of blyxa and a hygro wall in the back. I may add some rockwork, not sure yet. I just really love the blyxa grass field and I'd hate to have to get rid of some to fit rocks. Blyxa has been growing like wildfire! And it's getting tall too.

Pics in a few weeks when the hygro fills in :D
 
Sounds like a major renovation, what do you do with the old plants that you tear out?
 
Your crazy! But I really like the idea. The grass is the coolest looking plant in there. Cant wait to see the new renovation.
