Hey Matt,mlancaster;4695013;4695013 said:Hi jcardona1,
Although I am sure it has been said many times it deserves to be said again, you have an amazing tank shared with us through great photography.
My question is regarding your Puntius denisonii. I have been interested in keeping these fish and was trying to figure out how they would fit into my tank set-ups.
How do they do in your 3ft tank? Any problems or unusual behavior due to the short length? I have a 3ft 38 gallon I wanted to put 6 Puntius denisonii in as the main attraction. Would this work? Or would you advise they go in a 55g with an adult Geo altifrons, 8 Skirt Tetras, and some pictus catfish? I would prefer the 38g as it is in the family room.
If you have any opinions or some insight on keeping these fish in 3 foot tanks, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Matt

Thanks for the feedback
As for my denisonii, I'd say they're doing great in the tank. They're not timid at all and are constantly swimming back and forth, and like to nose dive into the foreground plant looking for food. Mine are about 4", so they're still not full grown. These can get around 6" and are very 'beefy'. Obviously, the bigger the better when it comes to tank size for these guys since they're very active.
I think it can be done in a 38g, but 6 may be a little too much. I have 6 in mine and I don't think I'd go anymore. Maybe 3-4, and see how they do? If they seem to skittish, then perhaps try adding 1-2 more. After they settle in I think they'll do just fine.
Mine chase me at the top of the tank as I walk by, begging for food![]()
