You do understand they are ectothermic correct? also you are aware that Ph and Temp directly effect D.O. also right? So therefore these things listed are a bit off based....

There is already a great deal of Aquaculture info available on these fish (and aquatic culture in general) I suggest a review of it...

In the first post I stated they were cold water (fish). Theres a lot of information, true, but then again theres information on everything...some of its correct and some of it isn't. I referenced books and again in the first post I have referenced one an particular. So I am and have been reviewing information. I just want more info and including my personal setup for ideas and tips. But so far I have had few tips and the rest trolling comments hince the autobot post by Venom.

Thanks ewurm for the restoration!

PH: don't worry about a specific PH its more important to keep a stable PH. LMB are very tolerant to any PH, but you want to keep it steady, trying to change the PH could at anytime spike up or down in which case could lead to other problems.

Temp: i have kept LMB at cold temperature (room temperature) and tropical temperatures, they are much less active in colder water and there immune system is slower, also i noticed in colder water they sit closer to the bottom and warmer waters they sit closer to the surface. i keep mine at tropical temperatures 76* i wouldnt suggest 90* although ive never kept them at higher then 82*

how soon do you plan on upgrading to a 75g? you can expect 1"+ growth a month depending on tempature, filtration, etc.

I don't even have the fish yet...they are still being shipped. I want to soon, its just a matter of finding a deal on a tank. I can upgrade at any time.

What will you feed to the bass? Natural foods (wild caught live foods) or store brought foods (feeder fish, pellets etc.)?

Wait your talking about this?
So far I have been obtaining most of my information from a book written by Keith A. Jones, PhD entitles Knowing Bass "The Scientific Approach to catching More Fish" It covers quite a bit of information. Dr. Jones is really an knowledgable gentleman. He is a researcher for Berkley and has studied Bass for years. I am just pointing this out to show where I have obtained my information.

The guy works for a fishing products company (Berkley the Tackle company not the Academic institution) the only thing he has published are fishing manuals... While some of this can be transfered to husbandry very little of it is useful. I'm not sure how you can consider this info good though seeing as it is a sales brochure for their products more than an actual treatise on the fish.

Your looking for info in the wrong places....

I'm not trying to be a DB I'm just informing you that you are going in the wrong direction. Your choice to do so if you wish. Free to do as you wish..

Thank you this is a response I can respect... So who is considered the "father of LMB"? Leading researcher?

What happened to my information to the OP about the permits required to stock fish in Indiana??? I spent valuable time looking that up!

Overzealous bot? I agree, it was great info, thanks for posting that. Perhaps it can be restored.

Leading researcher? Father of LMB? I'm sorry I do not get this...These fish are over studied. Compare them to the work I'm doing and you have 600 papers to one...

Fact is you need to look over the Peer reviewed research. it is not a who but a what...

Simple google search using the Scientific name will bring up hundreds of peer reviewed papers which you can get. Narrow it with an advanced search...

Sounds like a plan thanks for the point in the right direction. I was referring to generally with studies theres a person or group who are overly commited to the study of a certain animal or plant. Like that woman who lived with the gorillas to study them...can't think of her name.
Some studies have breakthroughs in research done by a person, hince why some names given are the name of the researcher/scientist/etc when naming something new. I wasn't sure if there was such a person who went above and beyond to write about keeping LMB.

But thanks again for the info, I will refocus around the peer reviewed research. Its sorta what I was looking for here.
