Sounds like a plan thanks for the point in the right direction. I was referring to generally with studies theres a person or group who are overly commited to the study of a certain animal or plant. Like that woman who lived with the gorillas to study them...can't think of her name.
Some studies have breakthroughs in research done by a person, hince why some names given are the name of the researcher/scientist/etc when naming something new. I wasn't sure if there was such a person who went above and beyond to write about keeping LMB.

But thanks again for the info, I will refocus around the peer reviewed research. Its sorta what I was looking for here.

I'm not aware of a Jane Goodall of LMB... They are Gamefish so pretty much everybody deals with them on one level or another. They are not really a "Sexy" research fish.

In my own work (Gar not LMB) I have looked over a number of papers and found this individuals work to be of use: http://www.ag.auburn.edu/fish/directory/Emeriti/LovshinL.php He has done a lot of aquaculture work with diet and feed training. You might want to drop him a line for some re-prints of his work with LMB. Abstracts are available in the publications section of his profile.

Gave mine a some guppies today, they ate about 10 of them, vigorously! They didnt hesitate for one second to start the attack. Hopefully they will grow fast so I can get them in the big tank with the Orinos soon.

They do grow fast (LMB that is, but I doubt spotted are much different). I raised one in an aquarium from about 5" to almost 12" in maybe 6 months. His growth has slowed now, but he's around 16" after 2 years

If that growth rate applies then these guys should be ready for the big tank in about a month. Might be a bit of a culture shock for them, they chase each other around and bite at each other alot, they try that in the big tank they might end up missing :naughty:

I honestly have no clue what ph is, and a bass was the first thing over 5in I raised in an aquarium. easy to keep you can feed them wild dace.

pH is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in the water (I believe the p stands for the -LOG of the concentration, and H because it's the concentration of H+ ions). Basically, a pH of less than 7 means the water is acidic and above 7 the water is basic/alkaline. 7 is neutral.

I wouldn't recommend feeding wild dace as A) they might be illegal to collect based on you locality and B) you could introduce any number of pathogens into the tank from wild feeders. I'd just feed train them and skip feeders altogether.
