It works. Just when you throw greed in the calculation it doesn't work. lol

Nope. Unless we start drilling all our own oil or use other ways to power our cars.

There IS a breaking point and we'll reach it soon.

i hope we reach that point soon, kinda like the crash of the real estate market. not only is it gas prices but everythign else is going up too. grocery prices seem to have skyrocketed just like gas. unreal

and have you seen the price of cooking oil?!?!?!? omg! damn ethanol production!

I'm sitting watching the news. Taking it all in and reflecting on the last year.

This downward spiral to crapytown is going quickly. I predict that we'll reach a real crisis point in the next couple of years. The government will have to sink or swim. They'll need to crack down on the oil companies and either implement gas rationing, start drilling all our own oil or implement a new way to power vehicles.

There are proven methods out there. Methods that work and are even more environmentally friendly. We just need a government that has the balls to say. We're doing this now.
But right now its all special interest. Thats one of the main problems.

We're in for a ride.

yeah its gonna be interesting, history in the making. i just cant wait for the day when some form of alternative fuel is mass produced and available everywhere you go

I dont get it. Oil just fell to $122 from $135 a few days ago. yet gas prices around me jumped up by over $0.20 in the past 4 days. I'm now paying $4.39/gallon for regular lawnmower unleaded.

wtf!?!?!? is there no end in sight!?!? :irked: :irked: :irked: :irked: :irked: :irked:

price drop does not happen instantly... what we pumping now are the oil that was bought month before...

do you know that company like morgan and stanely are buy future Commodity (yet produced ) such as electricity, oil, orange juice and ect... that is to be delivered in the future?

yeah, ive heard that when watching the news. theyll mention somethign along the lines of "oil futures". wasnt sure what it meant but i kinda figured it dealt with supply for the coming months.

anyway, wasnt the jump in oil prices mainly caused by investor speculation?

Also, GM has closed 4 Truck producing plants. They are completely changing what their company is about.

They're going from Trucks and SUV's. To high MPG economic cars.
That might not sound like much. But that is HUGE.
They didnt come to this decision lightly. They did it because thats the way they need to do it now.

Airlines are cutting planes and flights. HUGE cuts. Due to jet fuel costs. Companies are going bankrupt.

Anyone who thinks that we're going to rebound from this by just waiting around and not taking drastic action is, sorry to say, completely naieve and ignorant.

yup, there will be many lifestyle changes coming up. the thing with GM is big. could this be the end of giganto SUV's and trucks?
