i think i am going to raise my sump off the floor by 6" and get a 40g rubbermaid from wal-mart.
i am sure that will be enough..
 
Just jumping in to say keep it clean and friendly here people. Name calling will result in passing out infractions.

If you post a thread about your set up, expect replies (both good and bad). Attitude gets you nowhere on this forum. And running off about how much experience you have, then posting things that are done wrong kinda trumps the feather fluffing, so be careful.

One thing to be aware of is the order your run your filtration: Mechanical then biological. You can only have as much bio as the source (fish waste) will support... so doing massive amounts of surface area for it when it's not needed is a waste. Also, the UV is a great suggestion. Just because the source water is clean/sterile (RO) doesn't mean the tank is. I'm happy to see you got the crushed coral out - it was only going to lead to problems for you.

i am sorry if i hurt his feelings for calling him a douche...
but he called my thread stupid..and it broke my little threads heart.
it was up all night and wouldnt stop crying until i posted 7 times..have you ever seen a thread with a broken heart? its not pretty.
i thinks its sad that you are calling me out on calling him a name yet you let his comment slide.
here is a little tip for you dude..the reason why you have more guests lurking then members and the members not making threads and asking for help is because they are afraid of the rude comments they will get from dudes like him.

look dude..i was doing fish forums way before MFK was even around. i have seen guys like him and mods like you all over the place...oh..by the way..i was a mod on 7 fish sites before mfk. and my question is..where in the hell are you guys. seems like you only show up to bust heads.
your main job is to help people. to straighten out the conflicts by helping the members and get to the bottom of whats right.

U can't take constructive criticism? Then ur I'n the wrong section. By the sounds of this thread and Ur other threads u shouldnt keep a ray until u no what ur doing. I am not trying to be rude but what i am saying is straight up. Ppl pick apart ur set up take it as a good thing many have tried different sump disign and are giving u the heads up on things that don't work or that are useless. Don't get so defensive cuz i am sorry my friend but lots of what is posted Is nonsense. Again i am tring to be rude man.
