I remember once my finger got impaled by a somewhat large hook. I was dropping the line and the line had a 3 lb weight on it which made the hook penetrate my finger.
Hooks are no joke!! A 16 year old guy, who probably fished once or twice in his life, was convinced he had to go on a tuna boat…which means he would need to cast. When he also did overhead casting, which is not good when you have no special awareness. He would never look behind him, and half the time he would snag on the boat, damaging his rental rod. He used a jig with a treble hook, which is 3 hooks in a circle going outwards.

When casting, he didn’t look behind him…and snagged someone on the back. The force of an overhead cast ripped through the guys shirt and hooked on his skin, ripping some out. The idiot looked mortified and so sorry, but nothing can excuse that.This story is from my dad from 5 years ago.

All together, the meat is 28lbs, which means that with the heads, it probably would have been 35-40+ lbs

What it was caught on (bait/lure): Dry fly, small nymphs, and small spoons
What rig was it caught on: dry dropper (fly), and single lure (ultralight)
Where it was caught (place): Bishop Creek, Loch Leven Lake, and Sabrina Lake stream
Where it was caught (topwater, midwater, etc): topwater
Depth of catch: 1-10’
How many: 15+
Fight (0-10): 7/10
Other information: Fun fish to fight. You can catch them on any dry fly. You can see them anywhere and everywhere in the Sierra’s

Where it was caught (place): Sabrina Lake stream/intake 1

Depth of catch: 3’
How many: 2
Fight (0-10): 5/10
Other information: The rainbows were very weak fighting fish. Scattered among brooks, and the most skiddish of the 3 species living in the spot where

My favorite trout to fly fish at night for. The really big ones come out at night.
