The Meanist Cichlid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've always heard that black belts were pretty aggressive. most viejas and paratheraps are pretty aggressive. synspilum is usually one of the more tame species, but others like bifasciatus, fenestratus etc. can be downright nasty. I've also heard that about zonatus but mine is fairly tame.

:)

Yea Jags are nasty fish, I had one eat my Green Terror. I miss having a G/T around, I really like them.

I am going to set up a 75g tank! What do all think I should get for it?

Later,

Billy

My Hemi. Fasciatus is a downright bastard, although my festae will stand him to a stalemate. I'd have to say though, out of everything I've kept/seen, Neolamprologus Christyi is by far the nastiest creature i've ever encountered. For those of you who've kept Neets before, imagine them in breeding condition, on steroids with a bad case of hemmerhoids to boot and you have N. Christyi on a good day. When Christyi breed, anything that you want to keep alive should be removed, period. If these things got to the size of P. Dovii, there'd be nothing else living in Lake Tanganyika.

ounce for ounce the convict wins in a landslide,,,,imagine a convict that was 8 to 10 inches,,,,what cichlid would take him ?????

i s=usually get my fish from this guy who breeds from home! and he's selling a breeding pair of dovii for $30! now to me that sounds ridiculously cheap! is it? if so he musnt know what they are! Lots of ppl trade in fish to, that'll be why!

At 3 inches long, my christyi (unpaired at the time) were using 4-5 inch breeding pairs of convicts as dithers... they killed most of the cons off (this was in a 75g growout too). The rest of the cons spent most of the time in the top corners of the tank. One pair attempted to breed in a cave at the bottom.. they managed to secure a few inches (literally) of tank space, layed eggs, and attempted to defend the nest. The next morning I woke up to find the pair beaten ragged and in the corner with the rest again. I removed the remaining ones after.

He's not mean, he's just kissing the glass:)
hahahaha

Ewww my first post will be on a good topic I would not list them by "meanest" but rather by potential for destruction it is all about the attitude but on that note Dovii, umbee ,and red devil would be my top 3 not necessarily in that order ;)
