Striped Raphael catfish. One of the most boring fish I ever kept. I've seen him only less than 10 times in his life.:screwy:

i can not possibly agree more. ive had one for YEARS now, he has been hiding in the same crappy petco cave since day one, and i only see him if i move the cave.

i swear to god, in atleast 5 years ive had him, ive NEVER ONCE seen him eat. yet he's nice and fat, and seemingly healthy the few times ive inspected him.

raphael catfish, hands down most boring (and reclusive!).....

i'd say that the most boring fish is the sea cow and the electric cat fish (i'm not sure if they are the same thing or not) ive seen them at the LFS and they look like turds in the water.

Dont get me wrong Iffrat,I love dats, they are among my favorite fish and I have kept them off and on since the early nineties but I have always had ones that prefer more to lay agaainst the tank walls or hide.I find them to be a very moody fish and when they are out and about, nothing beats them but with me thats rare.Oscars were one of my starter fish and I didnt think that they were boring at all, mine were very responsive pets.
i have 4 .. 2 silvers 2 wide bars ... one of each hide .. but one of each are also always out and about and stable ..

the 2 that hide are always swimming on the rays back and tend to be on the light side with light bars ... but when feeding time comes around they stable right up and play with the big boys ...

i would say even my rays are kinda boring .. but there so damn cool i dont care .. i will sit and watch them sit in the sand for hours just because they are amazing .. but mine like to swim in the current and in the bubbles so i got lucky

Plecos in my opinion are the most boring fish - at least in my tank they are!

I have two in there, not sure what type they are but I think I've seen them only a handful of times.

In one of my tanks, the pleco barely moves, I always know where he is. IN my other tank with 3 plecos, they are very active. Different species, but its kinda funny

I DEFINITELY AGREE! I ONLY SAW MY RAPHAEL TWICE IN IT'S LIFETIME. WHEN I INTRODUCED IT IN THE TANK AND WHEN IT DIED.

Well...gotta be honest but i have no idea what species they are (one is from the previous tank owner, the other was one my bf wanted - early fish keeping days before we knew that this was ending up to be my hobby not his!)

both hide under or behind rocks in my tanks - I'll occasionally catch a glimpse.
