Live bearers are pretty lame, never really been big on any of the tetras either as if they are in operation school autopilot. For bigger guys, not really a fan of pacu, guess its a common personality of the characins.

I felt the same way until i seen a 15+ fish school of 10-12" anableps anableps at Newport aquarium. Watching them jumping for crickets in the tree above there tank was pretty neat.

Plus they have 4 eye's and left or right handed genitals. Which is oddly neat. But they are a rarity in the live bearer group.

Well, they don't really have four eyes...just the pupil is divided into two...;) for other cool Lbers, you can't beat Belonesox, the "alligator guppy".

My two plecos are out and about all the time. The larger one will cruise around with his fins out looking generally awesome. Not many fish really bore me. Im not too fond of anything thats just a little slip of bright color though.

Striped Raphael catfish. One of the most boring fish I ever kept. I've seen him only less than 10 times in his life.:screwy:
you beat me to it. i was going to say my spotted raphael cat. i literally checked daily to see if he was still alive cuz he was that sluggish. definitely the sloth of fish keeping.

yea sorry not 4 complete eyes.

just each eye has 2 distinct pupils and a upper veiwing area for one and lower vision for the other.

Like a 2 in 1 kind of deal.

The upper pupil is usually held above water and is used for sighting prey in the foliage above.

My guys are out daily and will even take food from my hand sometimes. ( if I have a mealworm or something) Probably one of my favorite fish. If pet stores, I do see them just laying around, so I know where you are coming from.

Discus, Peacocks, African Butterfly fish.
