The Most EVIL CICHLID on the Planet.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think they're designed mostly for rasping algae but as has been proven, they can cut through flesh and finage like a hot knife through butter. The sort of damage seen to fins in a Neet tank is akin what you see inflicted by Piranhas - clean sliced of sections of tail of dorsal or anal.

Lol that was an entertaining read, btw my 5 star generals will batter your fish blat blat lmfao... they eat adult dovii feeders too!-)

LOL.... Good UK sense of humour. I'm sure most 5 star generals could down a Dovii or two at a sitting.

Lol...
Old video...

Just bites the butti for a reaction!-)

Wow!! Justarn, those 5 spot Generals looks good, what size tank was were they in? About how many 5 Spots did you have in one tank? One had a lot of red at the belly, was that a 5 Spot General also?

They've got one of those at Paddock Farm water garden near Darlington

The red one was frempongi I have just two now in the same 300g. The elongatus are much nicer when you see the detail in them. I had 8 at one point but they were fighting so kept the two that get one, have a young frempongi ATM as well.

Which cichlid to you like better the elongatus or the frempongi? Which on is most aggressive between the two?

I had a elongatus in a 360 gallon tank a few years ago in the tank with a grammodes, red jewel, fenestrates (pink), salvini, nicaraguense, female festae, escondido, and the elongatus took up half the tank, he was nasty...

I never had a frempongi. Are you saying that the elongatus looks better than the frempongi, in color?

Years ago I had a 200 gallon tank with a elongatus in it, and he was the prettiest elongatus that I ever seen, his entire body was yellow with that black line diagonally across the eye, I never seen on like that again...

I see them now with some of the body yellow, but this one his entire body was yellow, wonder what happen? Has the genes weaken?

Elongatus has a wide distribution with many different undescribed morphs from my understanding.

Elongatus has a wide distribution with many undescribed morphs from my understanding. Same can be said for fasciatus. Frempongi, being endemic to one lake, is mostly uniform in color.
