I remember those days. Now, my fish food bill is well over $100 a month. Most expensive fish was over $7500 when the permit, tariffs, and shipping were added. The fish was DOA with no guarantee due to coming from another continent. This deal was before computers were common and everything was done by phone.

What fish was this? Very curious.

I bought the only GATF (about 2.5 inches) a vendor had back in May which is about as out of season for them as you can get. I spent $275 for the fish and another $125 in shipping.

I overpaid terribly. It was worth it.
