OR create a sump, and put everything in it :D *working on it*

how can you afford a sump if you cant afford a heater gaurd :screwy:

What kind of heaters explode in the substrate?!? I have 6 heaters buried at the moment, all for quite awhile. I have never had any problems. I also have never seen a heater with a guard on it. The only time I have had a heater break was when it was out of the water and I forgot to unplug it. I didn't know people had so many issues w/ heaters!

how do you even know if your heaters are working if the are covered by gravel

the water is ment to flow around the heater not heat up you substrate their is under gravel heating for that for planted tanks dont your fish dig in the substrate ir lay on it

look its foolish to have a heater without a gaurd why take take the risk for the price of a $5 bit of kit

I just have my heaters on the back part of my tank no guards no problems and definitely no need to bury my heaters... been using the same heaters for 2 years now...

still no gaurd = un needed risk

i cant see why some people are so against using the gaurds surely its best to be safe rather than sorry if they cost like $100 i chould understand why some people dont use them but $5 come on do yourself a fav and always use them

if you have a black background they even hide the heater better

actually I have never seen a heater guard in a store then again I have never looked for one. I guess if you have a reason for one then sure get one, but personally I have held my heater when it is on in the water and it doesnt seem hot enough to burn anything...

to each his own, I dont think that people are against it but rather they dont see a need for it, which is probly why I havent seen one in a store. what they really need a guard for is those little glass floating thermometer, I have broken 3 of them and then finally got a digital with probe lol...

Is that "most stupidiest" a joke or are you being for real? lol.

their you go just in case you have trouble finding one :D

this will fit most sizes of heater you just add as many bits as you want you can still see the themo indecator

it is very important to have a guard on the heater everyone thinks they dont need one until one of their fish get burnt it happens alot i see people all the time asking what wrong with their fish when they have big bits of skin peeling off

if you have a heater in your tank whats the big deal by putting one on its better to be safe than sorry all the people who say they dont need one are the people whos fish get burnt
