OK, I've seen this referenced by a certain member here on TWO SEPARATE threads that got locked so I never got to ask the question - just who do you think the MTV generation is?

I mean, I'm almost 40 and I grew up on Mtv, and so did my brother who is over 40.

Usually you hear people complain about 'kids these days', but it's been quite a while since I've heard that one.

I mean, this joke from the Simpsons was funny... in 1992

Bart: We're the MTV generation
Lisa: We feel neither highs nor lows
Homer: Really? what's it like?
Lisa: meh

MTV generation? Not sure where Id fit in either. Mabe its a wider more general term than we realize. Im still not 100% sure, but I think Im a gen X, born mid 70s. BUT! This much I do know, if you havent heard, "kids these days" recently, you're going deaf!! :D

I'm guessing its those of us in the 30-45 demographic. Older folks wouldn't have cared when it came out and the whipper snappers probably never saw a music video on there.

I grew up with actual videos on MTV, but was there when they went away and MTV turned into a land of suck, and I'm 30. I know exactly who you're talking about and I believe that one of those references was directed to me because I said something he disagreed with and called him out on being a hypocrite. I'm not sure exactly what that phrase means but I assume he's using it as a derogatory term from the context it's used in.

When I started watching MTV It was Bad Boy Records videos and the whole east west thing it's now just tv shows on directv I get the other channels they have and sometimes it's videos
