The MTV Generation

OK, I've seen this referenced by a certain member here on TWO SEPARATE threads that got locked so I never got to ask the question - just who do you think the MTV generation is?

I mean, I'm almost 40 and I grew up on Mtv, and so did my brother who is over 40.

Usually you hear people complain about 'kids these days', but it's been quite a while since I've heard that one.


I mean, this joke from the Simpsons was funny... in 1992

Bart: We're the MTV generation
Lisa: We feel neither highs nor lows
Homer: Really? what's it like?
Lisa: meh

I guess the MTV generation would be the first generation growing up while MTV was created, like when it played music as people have pointed out. Its the same generation that got to enjoy the simpsons back when it was still funny.
