Sorry to hear that, hope they get better soon.

That Fish Place in Lancster, PA. I don't see the brand that have I have in the lastest catalog but the cheapest 1/4 hp they are showing is $524. They do come smaller but this size works well in a 55 gal when you want it real cool.

There is one here called the "Iceprobe Thermoelectric Aquarium Chiller" that claims to cool up to a 55 gal but they don't say how low. It's only $149.

thanx, all those reasons plus of trout they are my number one favorite...second or tide for first place fish overall with lake sturgeon...i am buing a minni fridge tommarow to convert into a chiller so i don't have to spend $100's on a chiller...till i buld the pond as i couldn't chill the pond with a minni fridge...i figured that 3 brookies in a 55gal is fine as the small creek breed strain they are will top out at 10" give or take...my only concern is to get them eatting witch they have shown great steps in already...also these are fish that alot of people want and can't get do to a lack of knowladge for keeping and availibility...i don't know of anyone that has trout in personal stock that isn't a large public aquarium or a cabelas type store...even they have a small amount...
sbuse, back in 1987 i kept a 55 through the summer believe it or not with a brook brown rainbow and golden. i also had a small mouth large mouth and a northern pike. they all did great on fatheads. the rainbow was the king of the tank but in the end i released them at the hatchery i got them from...

You serious? I mean, you're not confusing yourself over there, are ya? ;)

i am serious...i keep all kinds of "hard to keep fish" no issues with the exception of the random death fish...they still die randomly in my care...all fish need clean water, more then enough filtration, lots of food...what is left...temp...housing is a givin if you can't house a fish don't get it...that is why i say they are no different from any other fish as i treat all fish as if they were the "super sensitive fish"...

i believe you did that...i know of a few people that have had trout/salmons for a summer or winter...i was getting at long term...in the end you didn't keep them till they died...also i said "most people that want them can't..." i knew that some people could get them (like me) and raise them...that being said...most people can't get them or wont get them due to previously stated reasons...

the one that had the bad fungus died last night...the other 2 have it, but not as bad...
