I agree if you start from scratch...

When i upgraded my 150 to 300, I put in about 100glns of my old water and the rest was new water... used one old canister and a new Sump... tossed in my/your old tats and Wa-Lahhhh

It just depends on which way Will started the tank

Added them yesterday. Using the sponge filters to help speed up the cycling process. Will remove them in a few days. Placed an order for a nice piece of driftwood 6'x2'x2'...hopefully I will be able to fit it into the tank. River rocks will also be added in the near future.

The extra 6" does make a difference. My 6' is 30" tall too.
