About five inches or so. Look for anal fin spangels. Five inches is about the size for a positive ID.

ok, thanks! right now they have a gold huge to the anal fins. theyalso have gold spangels on their dorcil. another reason i am leaning away from mono or occel is from what i have seen/remember is that the black stripe doesn't go all the way to the end of the tail fin. i thought it stopped. i could have that flipped, but thats what i remember. i also don't recal my mono having blue at the tip of the tail like these do. that was one thing i noticed about my orino when i got it was the blue in its tail that my mono didn't have. those type of little things are making me think to far into it, or possibly far enough into it.

it had no gold on it to speak of, no black spangles on the cheeks, was more of a pale green instead of the brighter metallic green these are, the gold around the eye spot is very noticeable in the new ones compared to the old one and the lower tail was red as opposed to golden with a hint of red like the new ones.
just some of my observations. could there be that much variation between farm breed and wild of the same sp.? could it be just some thing diff all together?
i know time will tell but i am to damn impatient! i hate that about myself.

Well good luck with them anyway. They are cute. I liked the way they all hid in the corner at the LFS when I was up there with the dude with the face...you know the guy... I laughed at them. And then got crabs. lol.

size depends on species. anal fin spangles means yellow dots on the fins. other spangles can be on the body as well.
Oh ok. Well let me just take a moment to publicly thank you for your mercy. lol. It made me giggle too.
(On a side note, my HERMIT [SCOTT...] crabs are so cute and little!! I can't wait to find my camera's battery charger so I can show you! [just don't go there...])
