Compatible Tankmates:Eachother, large robust fish compatible with some small cats such as ottos (Otocinclus cf. affinis), some cories (Corydoras cf. julii and C. cf. nanus), as well as a few shoaling tetras and loaches. however it is generally not suggested as it takes some knowledge and experience to get this to work.

Where can I get my hands, or fins on some exodons?? Those things are awesome lookin.

exodons are not exported very often, so it may be a bit of a challenge to get your hands on some. your best course of action is to contact a few of your LFS nad have then check with their suppliers.

What about blue acaras?

Blue Acara
Scientific Name: Aequidens pulcher
Common Name(s): Blue Acara
Size: Can get up to 8” (20cm)
Diet: Will take cichlid food, flake, pellet, and can be taught to take live.
Water Parameters: pH from 6.3 to 7.3, temp from 72 to 78, soft (50mg/l).
Natural location: South America, from Panama to Venezuela.
Temperament: Territorial.
Tank-mates: Anything over 3”, not so tough as to overwhelm it, so nothing over 16”.
Minimum Tank Size: A pair of them can be kept in a 40 gallon breeder, a specimen can work in a 30.

I don't really think i've ever encountered such a perfect cichlid for the beginner. Softer species like angels may be bullied for territory. If your tank is at least a 50 gallon, you should be able to keep a nice community with larger shoalers like giant danios, rainbows and silver dollars.

Picture isn't mine.

Bitter, are these Acestros legal in Hawaii??

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Charax Gibbosus
COMMON NAME: Glass Headstander, "Poor mans' Payara"

CARE LEVEL: Moderate
ADULT SIZE: 5"-7"
PH RANGE: 6.0-7.5
TEMPERATURE RANGE: 75-80F
ORIGIN: Gazetteer South America: Essequibo River basin and coastal rivers of Surinam

TEMPERAMENT: Peaceful to species it can't swallow.

COMPATIBLE TANKMATES: Anything that is too big to eat & vice versa. NOTE: it is a shoaling characin and lives psychologically healthier with 5 or more.

DIET: Predator. Insects, fish, worms etc. Easy to convert to panzy. imean pellets / frozen foods.

TANK SIZE: 30 Gallons (4 or less Glass Headstanders)

COMMENTS: Truely a REAL mini monster. I consider it the poor man's Payara. ALOT cheaper, alot smaller, hardy AND legal in most states.
