The not so typical Tatf feeding vid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I seem to remember saying something about not trusting Rays before......

 Yes you did.

And if I listened to advice I would have never got them in the first place cause none of us here have big enough tanks for ATF :grinno:

Listening to advice can also take all the fun out of fish keeping, and lead you to improperly caring for fish too, but isn't that why we're all here? Cause we enjoy making mistakes and learning from them? Tweek the size of ray vs size of fish ratio a little bit and try again and I bet everything will come up Milhouse. ;)

Sorry to see that. Rays, my wife thinks they are angelic when they swim. I tell her they are angelic killers. This is why I havent added my Armatus with them yet.

Have always had a thing for morays and dig seeing vids of yours.

And the other Vatf inspiring fella! lol.

Thanks Don!

I'm in the same boat, ray free Armatus tank..... I was actually going to move mine in with some rays this weekend till this happened.

I've always wanted to see if rays and Morays could ever work. If it did, and you topped it with an apex Cherrycin, I think that would be the bee's knees for a spend all day Sunday enjoying kind of tank....... :)

Rays arent trustworthy but niether are Armatus and other large predators. But I can say from experience that my VATF has lived with my rays for 2+ yrs. And its a joy to watch them swim together in the same system. My Armatus will eventually go in also, if they become a ray chew toy so be it. But if they live together then it will be that much more of a joy to view.

It would be great to see them in with morays but morays are less choosey about what they latch onto. Just remebering mine latched on my thumb brings back some not so pleasant memories.

Yeah, you're probably right about the Morays, maybe it's a bad idea, but nobody knows till somebody tries and runs out of ideas on how they could make it work.

Flip side is if someone would have told me years ago that Aimara could live together with other fish and rays I probably would have laughed at them.

Flipped over flip side is I have the same kind of thumb memory only there was a ray clamping down on mine..... I'd take either of those situations over being bit by the fish we are worried about the rays eating.

It's a carnivorous circle....... :nilly: So many toothy hungry creatures :screwy: Where or where is the harmony???? :headbang2

Sorry for the loss bro, but on another note I love those eels.....those are easily my favorite saltwater fish.
