I think few, if no world records will be broken in the endurance oriented sports, as well as most of track and field due to air quality

:iagree:

seriously, this is no joke. I used to run a lot when I was in Brasil. I could run for maybe 8-9 miles on uneven terrain. I accompanied my dad to a business trip in mexico city (one of, if not the most polluted city on earth). By the end of my second mile, I was coughing, wheezing, and out of breath. Granted, these are world class athletes, but still...I am very curious to see what's gonna happen...

The sad thing is, when lungs are worked to the extreme in a polluted environment, lung damage can occur!

well, they're only there a few weeks. Probably there will be no serious side effects. My curiosity is with people such as the triathlon athletes and marathon runners. How will they fare in such bad pollution, since their lungs will be affected longer?

If you have Cox Cable and live in San Diego we just grouped all the channels that will be broadcasting the Olympics next to each other on channel 70 so you not bouncing all over. You guys may want to check with your local cable co and see if they are doing it as well.

The way they are doing the tv scheduling is driving me nuts! :nilly: I look on yahoo for what events are which day, and for example it says, the on tuesday they are showing USA vs. Angola basketball live from 2am - noon. Either I don't get this scheduling, or that is one long friggin game.

yay, brasilian tv is gonna show it live :headbang2

Who just saw Manny Pacquiao carrying the flag for the Philippines, hes so going to own the boxing during the olympics!
