Then here are some breeding pics of wild Bujurquina...which can alternate between substrate spawning and mouthbrooding based on which one makes sense to them...

Sorry for the ****e pics.

Matt

PS You'll have to wait for some bad pics of my Krobia sp. "Xingu orange"!

Do you know which species/location your Bujurquina are dogofwar? They look like vittata, but the genus is hard to tell apart.

I bought them as (wild) vittata...without a location. I sold them as "Bujurquina sp."

The Bujurquina group is very poorly described. There's a guy (Miguel something) who's now back in the DC/MD area that a few years ago collected all sorts of these fish in South America for Rapps and others.

They're pretty little fish...my female offed two males...I still have her...I sold some babies a couple of years ago. It's not like there's a huge market for them, though :)

How do you think they'd do with the bolivian ports? I've always wanted to try a pair of Bujurqina, but have never found them locally and have yet to do an internet order. I know Rapps gets them in (vittata) with his other bolivian imports.

I think the Bujurquina could hang with ports. They can hold their own although they don't get very big.

I've kept mine with all kinds of fish: Chetobranchopsis, Barombi-mbo fish, Madagascar fish, even small peacocks and haps...

I have the same fish , mine was ID'd as Aequidens sp."Jenarro Herrera" (see 1st post). Can anyone help clear up the ID, Was sold as A. Metae but obviously isn't. Looks like diadema but I have been told adamently that it's "Jenarro Hererra".

I'd need a better pic of it, with the dorsal fin up to see if the midlateral blotch goes into the dorsal fin or stops at it. From the orange/red pectoral fins and the green face and the partial stripe behind the eye, I'd say "Jenarro Hererra" as well. But would need to see that dorsal pic to know for sure.

The line behind the eye is shorter than the one you posted thatcichlidguy.
