The thing about UFC better than Pride makes me laugh. UFC has been on the decline in talent for a few years. Nothing like the hayday of Frank Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. Don't get me wrong, there are good fighters, but they fight so infrequently that it's laughable. It's like pro boxing.... I am also disappointed with the UFC's system of 6-8 matches per evening. With Pride you get a solid 8-15. The Bushido Tourney had 14 or 15 matches. THAT was a fight card, and less than the standard UFC price. UFC also makes a chump into a contender? Nate Quarry had no business in the ring with Rich Franklin. Paul Buentello "one of the deadliest punchers in MMA" lol.... Got killed by Arlovski in under 30 seconds. Patrick Cote vs Tito Ortiz?

I like watching Ortiz, but when was the last time he fought? 8 months ago? When is he going to fight again? I dunno. I think I have seen Fedor fight 3 times this year. Gomi about 5 times in the last few events.

Pride is sooo much better, IMO. Fighters are better, IMO.

Ideal matchups:

I would love to see Arlovski and Fedor. Man, that would be a great fight. I think Fedor would win, but I think that would be a great matchup.

Can anyone recommend a MMA-type school in the tristate area? My wrestling great, but my standup could use some work. When I turn 18, I want to give MMA a shot.
bro to be a good cage fighter you need to be a well rounded fighter ,you need to start to study jujitsu, you can wrestle??, boxing , and grappleing, learn all they's fighting style's, and you can control your fear. you will be unstopable!!

http://www.professionalkarate.com/classes-jiujitsu.shtml I have heard they are a good place to learn. I would try to learn the basics of 4-5 fighting styles then when you feel comfortable with them I would focus on the two you fell most comfortable with. Being you are a wrestler I would focus learning reversals and submissions from the back since most wrestlers have problems once there backs to the ground. Also a good idea to train and strenghten the core muscles. I would be training to be a mma fighter right now if I hadn't rip my shoulder out 2 years ago.

I'm a more than competant wrestler. I picked up boxing on and off again for the past two years as well. I think a big part of my not committing to boxing is lack of time. Wrestling season just started and I've been pulling 4 hour practices 6 days a week. It's exhausting lol. Conditioning pretty much went to hell in the last few months. I packed up about 15lbs and my endurance is terrible. Last year, I was able to run an 18 minute 3 mile. Now, I'm lucky if I can finish lol. No worries...I'm working out like mad.

Just out of curiousity, anyone remember that guy from the UFC-fought not too long ago. He was from Rome and had those tattoos all over his back. That kid could throw a punch!

Tanx for the Cro cop video, now I feel like kicking some ass. Do I have any volunteers? JK I like that UFC Championship that sometimes they show on Spike Tv. I m currently trainin Kickboxing with some of my friends, dont really think I ma go far with it, Its time consuming and I m too skinny I guess. Does anyone here take Kickboxing Classes?

I'd like to. My leg strength is pretty insane. I think it's in my genes. All the men in my family have rediculously powerful legs. I was leg pressing over 500lbs as a soph. My max is over 600lbs now for sure!

Again, out of curiousity. Does anyone know a MMA league or something in my area?

Nice dude, I can leg press 450 solid :). If I really started working out I think I could get to about 600 lbs but I wouldn't try that for a long time because I don't want to mess up my back :)
