Nice dude, I can leg press 450 solid :). If I really started working out I think I could get to about 600 lbs but I wouldn't try that for a long time because I don't want to mess up my back :)

...which explains why I wear a back brace at night. My back took a beating this year on the racetrack. Wrestling and working out did a number on it. Thank god its superficial and nothing that will last a life time. I was scared because I thought my doctor wasn't going to clear me for the season. I would have been crushed.

Bas is one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. :woot:
A-friggin-men. Bas is definitely one of the great ones. He is also wholeheartedly supporting Pride (they employ him as an announcer). He also has an event (Bas Rutten Invitational, I think)

I'd like to. My leg strength is pretty insane. I think it's in my genes. All the men in my family have rediculously powerful legs. I was leg pressing over 500lbs as a soph. My max is over 600lbs now for sure!

Again, out of curiousity. Does anyone know a MMA league or something in my area?
Nice. Now get off of the machine and get a bar on your back. Squats are king. They will develop that strength even further. Also work some speed squats. You will notice a HUGE difference.

http://www.professionalkarate.com/classes-jiujitsu.shtml I have heard they are a good place to learn. I would try to learn the basics of 4-5 fighting styles then when you feel comfortable with them I would focus on the two you fell most comfortable with. Being you are a wrestler I would focus learning reversals and submissions from the back since most wrestlers have problems once there backs to the ground. Also a good idea to train and strenghten the core muscles. I would be training to be a mma fighter right now if I hadn't rip my shoulder out 2 years ago.
I disagree with what he is saying , you can't study 4-5 style's then focus on 2 you feel comforatable with ,you will get your butt run around that ring, you need to be a well rounded fighter ,you have to be good and comforatable with multiple style's at least four variation's of fighting style's and over coming any fear of pain or injury. my advise is seek out a local tuff man comp and enter it to see if this sport is right for you , lot's of people say they wanna be a cage fighter but once in the ring they feel very differant , it's also a great place to meet up and brawl with that dude that is allway's runnin his mouth but allway's find's away to aviod a fight with you, if you have that problem, the feeling of stompin the piss out of some one in front of a crowd and no police to stop it is incredible.. good luck to you, and tuck your chin in, leave no target's and allway's set the pase of the fight ,and go for the knock out or submission!!!....
