The pitter patter of tiny, TINY feet

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How big are these? They look tiny.

SHE JUST GAVE BIRTH:D! looks like 3. Fingers crossed that they all make it.

To answer the questions:

I paid $7 each for mine.
They're not as small as you might think (as they DO look alot like african pygmy mice). They're slightly larger that normal white mice, but they don't stink as much, they don't sleep all the time, and they're not as prolific.

If anybody is interested in some free spinies in a couple weeks; I'm located in Maryland:).

Pics if possible.

Uh, I might have to wait a day or two. I don't want the mamma to freak out and start eating them.

^^^
Well pics of anything would be kool, I really didn't mean of the babies. Hope they live though!

One of the babies looks close to death:cry:. The mom's already taken him outta the nest.

The other 2 seem to be doing well, though. They're already out; well furred and eyes open, at the ripe old age of 24 hours.

Got some pics. The first ones are of the male.
I had to seperate him from the female, because she was chasing him around.

The last pic is of the female and one of the babies.

those must be the cutest feeder mice I have ever seen. What are you planning on feeding them to?

They are also very nice. We have them at the zoo I'm volunteering at and they are nice little critters. Only thing is they're labeled African Spiny Mice, but I think it's the exact same rodent.

I do hope you're kidding..... I mean.....seriously?

Egyptian spiny mice are a beautiful, relatively uncommon, exotic PET (key word here) mouse; and therefor I don't plan of feeding them to anything. Personally, I believe the practice of feeding live feeder mice to snakes and other predators (unless when absolutely neccessary for reluctant feeders) is a unnecessary practice that will inevitably end up injuring your pet.

Sorry for the rant, but I feel you should have read the initial post before making that kind of assumption.

Yeah, same mouse-different common name. I always knew them as egyptian spiny mice, but since Egypt IS located in Africa (if my giography is correct); I suppose either name will work:D.
