The pool filter sand thread!!

pfs is very dense, dont worry much about it getting sucked up unless your intake is literally right above the sand
i just got this pfs and love the natural look
I think this is the same exact stuff I have. I'm checking out another place by to today though because the lady said it's more brown.
I think i'm putting it in my 125 tomorrow. I'm just nervous of not liking it haha.
All this talk of PFS. Anyone have any problems with playsand? I use it in all my tanks and I love it. I really don't see much difference in the two honestly.
I heard it mentioned something about playsand forming anaerobic pockets? What's wrong with those? I TRY to make them in all my tanks! Never ever stir the sand and keep it about 3-4" deep. Takes care of your nitrate problems. And even when they release when fish dig em up or I move a piece of decoration that's been there for a year, it just bubbles to the surface and off-gasses. Think about Co2 systems, if you just let it out in big bubbles it does nothing. You would have to thoughrougly mix the gasses with the water in a reaction chamber to make it dangerous.

BTW I will be adding roughly 600lbs of sand in my 400g when I get it setup... That's a lot of rinsing 
