The Purpose Of A Heater?

Back to the subject of heaters, I have been guilty of forgetting to plug them in every so often after a water change. When they are no plugged in I do notice that they are sluggish and don't want to eat as much as well. As soon as the temps back up they act normal.

Lol that's partially my bad
But I just use them because mine only goes on when the heat goes below a certain point which is rare in the summer
