My 10 are in PERFECT condition with no ick and ate bloodworms minutes after acclimation.

Not sure why everyone's orinos are dying so quick. Are they in established, cycled tanks or were these tanks thrown together last minute to accomodate the orinos?

But you do. You bought fish willingly, knowing the size and price of the fish, and then complained about it after you got what you asked for. If buying something you don't want isn't throwing away money, I'm not sure what is. I apologize if it seems like I'm attacking you, but in your case, I just don't believe your negative statements towards Jeff are justified. Just my last opinion on the subject.

90% the orinos he sent out had ich they were doomed before people recievied em orinos at that size that are sick very seldom survrive

buying sick fish is like throwing your money away

i wouldnt say "doomed" because the majority of the orinos are doing good. i really dont understand why you are complaining. you received your fish in perfect health. sure, some arrived with ich. as many have mentioned, this is very common when dealing with small cichla. during shipping the water can cool down enough to cause these guys to get ich. if you keep the tank right, it should be gone in no time.

so again, why are YOU complaining? if guys lost their fish, they can get in touch with jeff. he's willing to work something out because he told me this. he's not leaving anybody hanging

Where did your statistic come from, from Rapps? Ich is caused by free floating bacteria/parasite, if your water temp/parameter is not setup correctly, they are bound to contract ich. I think what Rapps offered us was nothing short of a great deal.

Just my 2 cents.

Chris

BTW, my orinos from both Rapps and Rich are both ich free and eating blackworm like nobody's business.:headbang2

bro wtf is your problem? youve been bad mouthing and trying to start crap in this thread for a minute now. do you have some beef with jeff? if so, take it up with him personally rather than post this immature and mindless garbage. the fish were sold at the size advertised. there was no false advertising. the only issue was that some fish came in with ich because of shipping stress.

you knew how big the fish were because the size was clearly stated. or do you not know how to read very well? nobody put a gun to your head and made you buy the fish. you say you are a man of your word, SO IS RAPPS. he said 1.5-2" orinos, and thats what he friggin sent you. what more do you want? seriously man, grow up and quit whining like a little girl

Hang on there a minute boss, I have two little girls and they don't whine like that!!!!! ;) Dude, you crack me up. Seriously though, I enjoy your posts/threads very much. Took a look at your tanks...awesome. Will have to get you to share some knowledge when I get my 150 up. Thanks bro, keep it coming.

Just read through the thread. For whatever it's worth, I hope you all are able to nurse your babies through this unfortunate ich problem. Personally, I have never bought anything from J.Rapps. However, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. After spending a few weeks on this forum, it is clear that the man has built an excellent reputation for himself. I don't think you do that buy shipping people sick fish. IMO, I think he went above and beyond by addressing the issue on this thread and even sending people extra fish etc. You all know that Orino's are gorgeous, that's why you agreed to fork out the cash. Yes it sucks about the ich but that is possible whenever you have fish shipped. So that was my 1 3/4 cents. Again, good luck to you all.

the dude is from Florida and it seems as though hes on good terms with Snookn. I think hes just trying to promote Snookn's fish in a silly fashion.

Anyways, i have a few of Rapps Orinos and i was wondering if you or anybody had any pictures/information about Rio Meta Orinos. Ive seen a few variants of Orinos but ive never seen ones from the Meta River. it seems like nobody has any pics of cichla from there as well. The different variants of orinos got me really curious as to what these guys will turn into.
From what i read so far, these Meta guys have mean "greens" and "blues" and aren't as yellowish and brown like the venezuelans.

Does anybody know if these baby orinos were collected in the wild? If not, would Jeff show a picture of his Rio Meta Orino Breeders? Thanks.

I believe these are wild caught and, like many cichla, it's hard to predict what they will look like as adults as there are so many variations. Part of the fun of cichla keeping, watching them grow and develop.
